: : Spider mites
These pests are small 8 legged insects closely related to
spiders. They are
far more active in warmer climates and this is the reason
why inside they
mostly occur during spring and autumn. They seek refuge
inside from the
cold nights outside so they can effectively start their
breeding cycle.
The type you are most likely to encounter will show
damage by sucking
sap from the leaves.
Although mites differ from insects in several ways,
their damage to
ornamental plants resembles that of thrips and lace bugs.
Most mites have
eight legs as adults (adult insects usually have six).
Mites do not have
wings (some adult insects have wings) but can be aerially
dispersed by
breezes and winds more or less like aerial plankton,
particularly in hot,
dry weather. It is thought the mouthparts (chelae) of mites
evolved from
legs with a prehensile joint, (the digitus mobilus) which
allows the mite
to chew with a vertical, scissors like action. In spider
mites, broad
mites, and cyclamen mites, the chelae have evolved into
sharp mouthparts
that mites use to pierce the surface of the plants they
feed on in order
to suck out the contents of the plant cells. Mites
evidently inject saliva
as they feed for one of the first symptoms of broad mite
and cyclamen mite
feeding is failure of the host plant to blossom. Infested
plants then
exhibit a variety of plant growth regulator symptoms
including twisted and
distorted growth, and shortened internodes and petioles.
Adult-
The eight-legged adult can be pale green, greenish
amber, or
yellowish. Usually having two (sometimes four) black spots
on top, the
twospotted spider mite is about 0.4 mm long.
Egg-
The spherical egg ranges from transparent and colorless
to opaque
straw yellow.
Larva-
The six-legged larva is colorless, pale green, or
yellow.
Nymph-
Similar to the adult except in size, the nymph has
eight legs and is
pale green to brownish green. Large black spots may develop
on each side.

The original genes of this strain come from the Hindu Kush valley, a mountainous area. The marijuana seeds were brought in the 1980's and crossbred with several varieties to create this lovely Indian type. This strain smells lovely; the leaves are big and dark green.
A plant you can smoke all day.
High: Taste is real nice and smooth...
silky. It's like a sweet fruit shake when smoked via the vapouriser. After
smoking a joint (and a bong hit), I realized how nice and stoney this gear
was. Lasting for almost 3 hours the high was more of a "body dope" with
a few visuals thrown in to keep you from falling into a trance!
Type: mostly indica
Yield: 450 gr/m²
Flowering period: 8 weeks
Grow Difficulty: moderate

Early flowering fast growing plant
with excellent yield. The characteristic red hair make this plant unmistakable.
The typical skunk taste and smell are kept along with the tight bud formation.
High: Wow, this is really some sugary and
sweet gear! It makes my mouth water as I write about it now. It almost seems
like you are eating a fruit with orange, lemon, a little berry and lots of
natural sugar. High sets in within 15 minutes rather lightly and unnoticeable
at first. There is a lively buzz felt and then it eases into a nice cerebral
high that lasts for at least 2 hours! What a pleasant surprise. I expected
it to be a mediocre taste and high but I was totally wrong. This was a Bud
Blessing in disguise! I'd like some more please...
Type: indica-sativa mix
Yield: 500 gr/m²
Flowering period: 8-9 weeks
Grow Difficulty: easy

Although the cerebral high of the
Sativa is preferred by many, indoor growers aren't too fond of this type:
Sativas get very tall, take a long time to finish off and produce skimpy
yields. BUT, by crossing the Haze, the most powerful Sativa in the World,
to a non-dominant Indica marijuana seeds variety it became possible to get the height and flowering
time of the plant down to an acceptable level and still retain the unique
Sativa qualities of the high. The results: the Silver Haze, winner of the
'89 High Times Harvest Festival. Don't expect top yields but top quality
that will excite You to the bones!
High: The taste is much like the crystal
flavour; a bit of eucalyptus-fruit. This shit hits you fast and hits you hard;
it even makes you feel a bit over-stoned. This lasts for a while so don't
smoke this gear when you got things to do! Really nice weed here; good flavour,
good FX. The Reggae music playing at ReGeneration was chillin' and I really
could sit on the Neuwendijk for ages... well, I did!
Type: mostly sativa
Yield: 400 gr/m²
Flowering period: 9 weeks
Grow Difficulty: moderate
