Cheese marijuana seeds grow from seed to harvest: Vegetative

March 14th 2009

I ordered up some Big Buddha Cheese marijuana seeds form 1stMarijuanaGrowersPage.com and they arrived two days ago. I only got 5 Feminized cannabis seeds which I figured would be ok since I didn’t have to mess around with any males. This grow is going to be started indoors for my Pre-Veg stage and brought outside to finish about Mid April. However I do plan on cloning the Big Buddha Cheese so I can continue with an indoor garden during the winter. So today I will germinate marijuana seeds and will post again when the seeds have cracked.

I took a peek in on the cannabis seeds and noticed that all 5 have cracked and have sprouted their taproots. I’m planting them into “peat pellets” which are compressed peat wafers that expand when water is added to them. They are a great seed starter and fit perfectly in the small greenhouse I have. Everything seems to be going really well and the marijuana seedlings look strong.

So far everything is moving along very smoothly and all 5 of the Big Buddha Cheese cannabis plants, germinated from marijuana seeds, are resting peacefully atop my windowsill soaking in the bright sunshine. I thought about moving them outdoors already but I don’t want to rush anything because I would love to be able to harvest all 5 of these lovely ladies. They all seem to be growing at the same pace and all are working on their 4th set of leaves. Nice green color with a slight aroma wayfaring off of each of them to create a wonderful room filled fragrance.

The rapid growth of the plant has seemed to slow down to a slow crawl. I’m working with different theories to try and improve the growth but it just may be how Big Buddha Cheese grows. I am thinking that I will keep them inside for a little longer just to get them as sturdy as possible before I let Mother Nature encourage them.

Today I transplanted all 5 of my Big Buddha Cheese to larger pots. These pots won’t be their final resting home but the second to last. I like letting the roots get really, really strong before I transplant them to a larger container. It has proven useful in my previous grows and plan to use this technique throughout all my marijuana seeds grows. The reason that I transplanted is because all 5 of them hit their growth spurt so I’m assuming that’s how the marijuana seeds strain grows. All in all these ladies are ready to sunbath everyday so let’s get the outside!

May 20th 2009

My ladies have been outdoors 24 hours a day for about 2 weeks now and they have grown very tall and bushy. The node and internode spacing is great and the stems are hard and green just like they should be. I'm watering every other day unless it rains or is scorching hot. I just have to adjust to the environment, as much of a roller coaster that it is. I’ve grown both Indoors and Out and nothing compares to an outdoor grow. Mother Nature takes care of almost every single thing you need and Mother Earth’s sun arches at a perfect angle everyday. How could you not want to grow outdoors from marijuana seeds?

May 26th 2009

Bad News!!!! We had some really strong winds roll through my area and it claimed the life of one of my ladies. The pot was still in the same place standing up, but the main stem just snapped! I saw in a Jorge Cervantes instructional video a grower “duct taped” the stem back together and the plant actually fused itself back together. As you can see even though the stem is snapped the actual plant looks really healthy and I hope this can be fixed. If not at least there are still 4 more marijuana seeds plants.

Just to give a quick update on the plant with the snapped stem…I repotted it all the way up to the snap. I took a 3’’ piece of “Flexi-tube” and cut it length wise so it was like a long “U”. I drilled holes everywhere on the tube and wrapped it around the broken stem. This will hold it together and the holes with prevent any rot that might occur because of the damage. The actual vegetation of the plant is still growing, so she might be able to survive.

Well its official, the Big Buddha Cheese that snapped has been regenerated and fused herself back together. A fine display of Mother Nature and the power she sheds upon her Earth. The stem was completely snapped and with a little tender love and care and a few bargains with Mother Nature and all is forgiven and back to normal. It is also the exact same size as the other BBC Ladies, so the accident didn’t hurt her too much, but I’ll still keep an extra eye on her for a few more weeks. As for the other four, they are growing beautifully and get bigger and bigger every time I visit my garden. I believe that since I have an open area where the marijuana seeds plants are completely surrounded by light they will get very big very quick.

Been giving them some organic liquid seaweed, I do not tend to measure it out in any strict manner, just a glug or two into a 10 liter watering can. Between the 5 plants I have outdoors at the moment I will do 2 x 10 liters every three days or so, I can see the difference since the seaweed started they are looking mighty green and mighty healthy. There were a load of little black flies making their homes under the leaves, ants seem to be my best friend at the moment as they are moving in and battering the flies as are a few spiders, Mother Nature, bless her ways. I made a garlic and liquid soap mix and that seems to have helped a bit. Each plant is about 3 ft high now and growing like wild fire as they are now getting the sun pretty much all day. I’m happy with the way every thing is turning out this year, they are starting to smell nice too.

July 3rd 2009

Apparently upon further research the ants that I though may be helping me, aren’t. They actually colonize and only pick off the other bugs for food, but mainly love to eat the plant. If that’s not bad enough, they will eat through the stem and burrow inside the stem, which in turn will kill the plant. So from recommendation I bought a “Home and Garden Ant Killer”. If you run into this problem make sure you buy the HOME and GARDEN formula.

The plants seem to be at a stand still as far a getting bigger or bushier. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think that they are huge. I can’t wait to see the size of the buds or how many buds there will be. The plants should be showing signs of their sex soon. Even though I know that they're all feminized marijuana seeds it’s still a good sign to see.

I am a very proud father of 5 lovely ladies. All 5 of the plants have showed their flowers and now it’s up to nature more than nurture. It’s just like with a child. You nurture then until they flower and then it’s up to nature and the power you installed in them. Since I gave 100% I believe I will get that back now in the marijuana seeds flowering cycle.

August 17th 2009

Sorry for not posting for awhile, I’ve been busy with tending to the monster plants and laying my new lawn. In the last month the plants have all grown about 5 inches and the tallest one is the picture in this log. There are white hairs all over the plant, from top to bottom, every branch is loaded with them. Unfortunately one of the ladies has turned into a hermaphrodite cannabis plant so I'm going to remove it. Surprisingly it’s not the one that had the snapped stem.

August 22nd 2009

So I’m down to 4 Big Buddha Cheese ladies and they are flourishing nicely. They are all still in very early stages of their flower cycle, but still on every internode there are pistils. The ladies have gotten really tall and wider than I thought, but I have no complaints. The only problem I’m coming across is the backs of the plants are against a wall/fence. I’ve noticed that even though light gets back there, those leaves seem to rot faster. We’ll see how that turns out.
