Durban Poison marijuana seeds grow from seed to harvest: Flowering

Day 41 (1 week marijuana flowering)

Durban Poison marijuana seeds grow from seed to harvest: FLOWERING

White pistels have begun to show. I sexed my plants today. Out of the eight marijuana seeds that germinated, 5 were female. That's not bad. That's half my pack of ten cannabis seeds female. I also received 20 free marijuana seeds that I'm eager to try next.

Day 48 (2 weeks marijuana flowering)

Durban Poison is starting to really turn a nice color of white. Pistels run all the way up the main cola, with lower branches also starting to turn too. I'm excited about the potential for some great buds. There's still plenty of great veg growth happening.

Day 69 (5 weeks marijuana flowering)

Nothing to report the last few weeks. The grow chamber is pretty automated and does all the work for me once you get used to it. I just check on the plants growth at this point. The marijuana seeds plant is growing awesome. The trim was a good idea. The Cool Grow Chamber has filled out real nice. The plant is bushy, not tall and skinny like other sativa strains. I'm very happy with it so far. The buds are just starting to develop their third set of leaves. The plant has doubled in size. I'm glad I topped them, or they would have run out of room in the grow closet.

Day 76 (6 weeks marijuana flowering)

The main cola of Durban Poison is really starting to fill out. The plant should finish flowering sometime between week 8 and 9. My feed regime and balance appears to be perfect. I'm see no signs of problems with the plants. Filled out the closet just amazing. Keep you lights low and be prepared to trim them.

Day 83 (7 weeks marijuana flowering)

Today I stopped marijuana fertilizer feeding. The buds are starting to look great. The lower branches are also producing some healthy yields too. Popcorn buds abound. The UFO LED lights prevented the plant from stretching too much. I'm really happy with that. Durban Poison filled out more than I expected. I always thought sativa plants grown from marijuana seeds stretched.

How to grow durban poison strain?

  • Growing Durban Poison strain requires careful attention to the plant's environment and specific growing conditions. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to grow Durban Poison:
    1. Choose the right seeds: Purchase high-quality Durban Poison seeds from a reputable seed bank or supplier.
    2. Germinate the seeds: Start by germinating the seeds. You can use the paper towel method or directly plant them in a small pot with a moistened, light soil mix. Keep the seeds warm (around 70-85°F or 21-29°C) and ensure they receive sufficient light.
    3. Prepare the growing space: Set up a suitable growing space, whether it's an indoor grow tent or an outdoor garden. Ensure the space has enough lighting, proper ventilation, and a controlled temperature and humidity level to mimic Durban Poison's natural growing conditions.
    4. Plant the germinated seeds: Once the seedlings have grown a few inches tall and developed roots, transplant them into larger pots or the final growing medium. Use a well-draining soil mix rich in organic matter.
    5. Provide adequate light: Durban Poison plants thrive under intense light. If growing indoors, use high-quality grow lights such as HPS, MH, or LED lights to provide the necessary light spectrum. If growing outdoors, ensure the plants receive full sun for at least 8-10 hours a day.
    6. Maintain optimal temperature and humidity: Durban Poison prefers temperatures between 70-85°F (21-29°C) during the day and slightly cooler nights. The humidity levels should range from 40-60% during the vegetative stage, decreasing to around 30-40% during the flowering stage.
    7. Watering and feeding: Water the plants when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring you don't overwater or let the plants become waterlogged. Durban Poison plants generally require moderate feeding. Use a balanced nutrient solution during the vegetative stage and switch to a flowering nutrient formula during the flowering stage.
    8. Prune and train the plants: Durban Poison tends to grow tall and bushy, so pruning and training techniques like topping, FIMing, or low-stress training can help manage its height and encourage better light penetration and bud development.
    9. Monitor and control pests and diseases: Regularly check the plants for any signs of pests or diseases and address them promptly. Use organic pest control methods or suitable insecticides when necessary.
    10. Harvesting: Durban Poison takes around 8-9 weeks to flower. Harvest the plants when the trichomes have turned milky and the resinous buds have matured and become sticky. Trim the buds, dry them slowly in a dark and well-ventilated space, and cure them in glass jars for a few weeks to enhance flavor and potency.
    11. Remember, growing cannabis may be illegal in some jurisdictions, so it's essential to understand and comply with local laws and regulations.

      1. Start Durban Poison seeds indoors in the spring. Fill pots with moist potting soil and plant one seed in each pot, 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) deep. Water generously and place the pots in a warm, sunny spot.
      2. Transplant the Durban Poison seedlings into individual containers when they reach 1 foot (30 cm) in height. Use a soil-based potting mix and maintain a warm temperature of at least 70°F (21°C).
      3. Plant Durban Poison outdoors when the weather warms up and there is no longer a threat of frost. Dig a hole twice as wide as the pot, and mix aged compost with the native soil. Place the plant in the hole, and fill the space around it with soil.
      4. Provide adequate light for maximum growth. Durban Poison grows best in full sun, but will tolerate some light shade.
      5. Provide supplemental watering when rainfall is low. Aim for about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of water per week.
      6. Feed the plants twice during the summer months with a balanced fertilizer. Follow the instructions on the package for the correct application rate.
      7. Prune Durban Poison plants to ensure good airflow. Remove any dead or diseased branches, and thin out the plant to create open spaces between branches.
      8. Harvest the buds once they become sticky with resin. Cut the stems near the base of the plant, and hang them upside down in a cool, dark place to dry.
