Grow From Marijuana Seeds Or Clones?

The decision is not obvious. Growers face a difficult decision to start a grow from either marijuana seeds or rooted clones.

When it comes to newbie error marijuana seeds are more forgiving then clones.

But both marijuana growing options have their respective advantages and disadvantages. Growers will weigh growing space, crop risk and turn around time.

Cannabis seeds are a great place to start, because you know what you are getting.

The Advantages of Marijuana Seeds
Seeds are often higher yielding than clones. Your cannabis seeds will produce healthy marijuana plants free of disease and pests. Weed seeds obtained from reputable marijuana seed banks are of known lineage and genetics. You will have a reasonable idea of what the marijuana strains will do in terms of yield, quality and marijuana flowering time.

Marijuana seeds can be expensive, not only per seed pack, but in the time they take to produce a completed crop. There are also problems with ripoffs, shipping/customs seizing deliveries, switched seeds.

Not all seeds will be viable (germinate) and only 60% of the none feminized marijuana seeds will be female. Feminized seeds may produce up to 90% females.

Cannabis seeds take a long time to grow. There is more labor, money and time involved before a harvest can occur.

The Advantages of Marijuana Clones
Marijuana plants grown from seeds will be more vigorous than clones, which rely on someone to clip them from a mother plant and root them. Human error is a big fact in starting clones.

The process to make clones can be a challenge. Often producing substandard product.

When you start to fine tune things, cloning may become a part of your grow cycle.

That's because clones are much faster to veg up and marijuana flower than starting from cannabis seeds.

Resulting in a faster harvest.
Clones can be difficult to find compared to buying marijuana seeds. Clones from unknown sources are of suspect quality and genetics. Some growers will sell unsuspecting buyers clones with pest, powdery mildew, spider mites or worst. If these problems are not identified and treated, they can quickly spread to your entire cannabis crop. Unhealthy clones may die or remain in shock for an extended period. Shipped clones may be in shock and take weeks of TLC to recover. There are many stories of medical clones shipped without any protection and arriving flat!

When done well both methods of marijuana growing will produce amazing results.

Consider both options and use both options (both cannabis seeds and clones) depending on your individual situation.
