How To Prevent Plants From Growing Tall During Flowering

Something many new marijuana growers don't consider when planting their marijuana seeds is plant growth during flower. Yet marijuana seeds will continue to grow well into the first two weeks of marijuana flower.

Regardless of marijuana strain it will continue to grow after switching to 12/12 light period for about 1/3rd the entire length of the marijuana flowering cycle.

What does this mean to the marijuana grower?

If your marijuana seeds have an eight week flower period, you have at least two and half weeks of new growth after the cannabis plant goes into flowering. For new cannabis growers this can cause serious havoc on their grow rooms.

Once the marijuana plant has entered the bloom phase do not chop or cut them.

This is not an ideal method for containing cannabis plant height.

Instead tie the top marijuana colas down.

You don't have any other option.

It's too late to trim the marijuana colas back and if you can't raise the light or lower the marijuana plants you have to tie them back.

Pull down the tallest shoots until they are at a manageable canopy level. These shoots will be pointing up a few hours after tying them down. Bending back towards the light.

Even the best thought out plans before planting marijuana seeds often need to be changed up slightly because of unexpected growth. Anticipate your marijuana seeds gaining plenty of new growth during the first few weeks of flowering.
